Now, the company marks a milestone with the premier flight of the F2. Michimasa Fujino, President and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company, comments, "F2's first flight was the result of extensive planning, hard work and execution by many teams and individuals across our organization and our supply chain partner network. The aircraft's performance is as expected and flying in the aircraft is exhilarating."¹

In order to achieve an off-the-ground performance that is both exciting and safe, the F2 underwent several tests. Within the first flight it completed important checks in the areas of aircraft handling, flap operations, takeoff and climb, landing gear operation and air data system checks with instrumentation. Achievements reached by the F2 will be built upon by two additional flight test aircraft in 2012 as well as the commencement of structural testing.
