Recent Honda Developments are Sky-High
Those in the Fort Collins area know they can rely on Markley Honda to provide all the latest information on everything from new Honda models to the automaker's community contributions. And when we say everything, we meant it. Right now, we'd like to take a minute to turn your attention to the sky. No, we aren't about to give you a weather report. But we are going to tell you about the latest Honda Aircraft Company advancement.
A little over a year ago, Honda set out on its journey towards the sky with the testing of its first FAA HondaJet aircraft: the F1. Now, the company marks a milestone with the premier flight of the F2. Michimasa Fujino, President and CEO of Honda Aircraft Company, comments, "F2's first flight was the result of extensive planning, hard work and execution by many teams and individuals across our organization and our supply chain partner network. The aircraft's performance is as expected and flying in the aircraft is exhilarating."1
In order to achieve an off-the-ground performance that is both exciting and safe, the F2 underwent several tests. Within the first flight it completed important checks in the areas of aircraft handling, flap operations, takeoff and climb, landing gear operation and air data system checks with instrumentation. Achievements reached by the F2 will be built upon by two additional flight test aircraft in 2012 as well as the commencement of structural testing.
To make a long story short, Honda is well on its way to mastering the art of air travel. But that doesn't mean it will be abandoning its true expertise any time soon. In fact, Honda has recently unleashed a whole slew of automotive developments ranging from advanced Honda parts to revamped models.
