American Honda Expands Takata Airbag Recall

Last week, it was announced that Honda is expanding a recall that affects vehicles equipped with airbags manufactured by major parts supplier, Takata. The original recall (15V-370) last May, and involved vehicles from nine other automakers. The specific issue is in relation a metal cartridge, loaded with propellant wafers, inside the airbag's inflator. Due to several contributing factors, the propellant wafers may break down, causing them to burn too quickly when ignited, creating a dangerous amount of pressure inside the inflator body...
