In America, when we think crowds, places like New York City pop to mind. But with a total population exceeding one billion people, China holds some top contending cities as well. Of course, a high volume of people always means high volumes of vehicles. Good news for automakers, not so much for Mother Nature. But heavily populated areas such as China are cracking down and working with companies like Honda to provide environmentally-wary transportation.

For a model like the Honda CR-V, treading the line between new and old isn't easy. When it came to the mid-sized utility vehicle's 2012 revamp, Honda had to come up with new material while retaining all the features that CR-V lovers have come to rely on. However, no surprise to Markley Honda, the automaker succeeded. After a careful redesign, we'd say the upcoming variant is prepared to please.

It would be easy for a major automaker like Honda to ignore certain model complaints and keep doing what they are doing. But that just isn't the Big H's style. So when comments regarding the Honda Civic rose to the surface, officials decided to strap on their listening ears and make some changes.

Last month, Maine native Joe LoCicero astonished Honda drivers everywhere after hitting the one-million mile mark on his 1990 Honda Accord. In honor of his accomplishment, Joe received a parade along with a new 2012 Honda Accord model. While these surprise rewards were certainly exciting, the dedicated Honda owner says the feat was simply a personal goal, not something he expected to be recognized for.

While automakers have been producing EV and hybrid models for quite some time, they have recently taken to making their buildings environmentally friendly as well. It comes as no surprise that Honda is succeeding at both of these endeavors. With hybrids such as the Honda Insight and CR-Z, the automaker's success in the green car market is widely-known. But what Honda owners may not realize is that the models they drive are produced in some of the greenest buildings in the industry.
